1/18/2012 0 Comments Completed Project: Business PlanThe last couple of weeks have seen much writing and polishing of a business plan for a small-ish client company (small but, nonetheless, going places) that is currently applying for capital financing. This is the usual inspiration for creating a business plan, but it is best done when there is NOT a deadline breathing down your neck. If you do not yet have a business plan, think about writing one. If you haven't updated it (or even referred to it recently), dust it off and read through it. A business plan is a great way of checking how you're doing. Every business plan will enumerate a range of goals for your enterprise. Are you meeting those goals? Why or why not? Taking the time to honestly assess your results against the benchmarks that you established can help you better understand where you stand and where you are going. A bonus associated with keeping your business plan current: the majority of content in your business plan can, with small amounts of editing, also fill out large portions of an RFP response that is the tool to win yourself MORE and NEW business [or, grant proposal for more and new . Hot off the virtual press: Image Management's November/December newsletter. Write and Polish has been honored to serve as proofreader on this publication. Enjoy! Post scriptum: 9 December, more on SOPA and PIPA. We were entirely pleased to perform the final editing and proofreading on the copy for the website of Racine dentist Dr. Chelsea Guzzo, under the auspices of website designers Image Management.
Thanks for the opportunity to promote this local business effectively and grammatically! We were honored this week to be able to proof and edit some material for the new 'ultralounge,' envi. The charming and thoroughly wonderful-to-know Doug Nicholson, the proprietor, had this to say:
We're blushing just a little, in that Sally Field, you-like-us-you-really-really-like-us kind of way!
See the recommendation on LinkedIn, here. ------------------------------------------------------------- Bonus 1: envi received a nice write-up from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel ~ check it out. Bonus 2: Racinders will already know Doug's Ivanhoe Pub, but few in Milwaukee are familiar with it. You should be. Plan a day to come down and stroll along the lakefront, stop in at a couple of the galleries, and enjoy a pub burger at the Ivanhoe (have the sweet potato fries alongside!) You won't be sorry. The July/August edition of Image Management's newsletter, IM ink is out! Read all about the basics of website domains, a newbie's discovery of the recreational sport of curling, and a FREE image manipulation program (GIMP). In the course of giving the piece its final proof, we certainly came away better educated! |
