Our recent work for Milwaukee's Optimist Theatre (famous for its Free Shakespeare in the Park) has included a change of newsletter mailing vendor, and a consequent new look and feel.
You can see the archived web copy of this issue here.
While the new template would be different out of hand, we took the opportunity to consider a more efficient way of delivering the news, so that each story lives independently at the organization's website, and the newsletter simply features a teaser and a link to it.
Most newsletter vendors have editors that can be a bit clunky. Writing, or cutting / pasting / reformatting within them is really no picnic. And a newsletter that just scrolls down and down and down may chase away readers.
The new format has garnered good feedback, and complements the facelift that we recently gave to the website itself. All in all, it should help spread the word more broadly -- which is, after all, the point!
Write and Polish has completed copy for The JOAN Project section on the website of Beyond the Disability. The client was in the process of beginning a larger publicity drive for the project, including a speaking engagement, and needed to quickly flesh out the website content that corresponded to her speaking material.
We were happy to help out!
We recently provided copy for the home page of our friends at YAY! Mail, a local provider of subscription-based communications services.
The service is useful to both businesses and individuals who value the personal touch of a tangible item, sent through the regular mail, but need to harness the power of technology to get it done efficiently. And, let's be honest, making something simple often determines whether or not it gets done at all!
As fans of communication ourselves, we think it's a great idea. Click through to learn more about how YAY! Mail can both simplify and personalize maintaining contact with colleagues, clients, prospects, friends and family.
We had a great event, and Write and Polish was so pleased to be able to co-ordinate it.
We've now issued the final press release, updated the event page with the results, and composed and delivered all of the follow-up letters to be printed and mailed.
We "live tweeted" throughout the day (#GMBF), as well as jotting down notes for the benefit of next year's festival.
The kids seemed to have a great time (hover over the picture at the top of the event webpage, and you'll see!), and one parent paid EMO (Ensemble Musical Offering -- the event sponsor) and Write and Polish (in our capacity as coordinator) a terrific compliment: her “daughter left [the festival] so excited and so thankful to play violin. She said it was one of the most fun days of her life!”
The first place winners in each age group and category (six in all) will have the opportunity to perform at upcoming EMO concerts.
Thanks for the opportunity, EMO! And thanks go each of the entrants, their parents and teachers, for their hard (and fruitful) work.
We recently added About the Artisan and blog-style News pages to the website of Embellishments, a working artists' studio and gallery shop located in Milwaukee's Shops of Grand Avenue.
We are providing continuing work to the website and building the shop's Facebook presence, particularly in advance of the November 10th Grand Opening.
We encourage those of you in southeastern Wisconsin to make a point to patronize this artist, and our friends everywhere to support smaller, local businesses and craftspeople.
Write and Polish recently completed the first phase of a website project for Milwaukee-area general contractor Barthenheier Construction.
The website was designed by Catral Doyle Creative (located in Milwaukee's Third Ward), whose team also established an engaging logo and brand. Write and Polish then performed a complete revision of the content, and adjusted some minor elements of layout/style to better reflect the client's aesthetic.
We will be continuing to work with Barthenheier to expand the case studies already presented to more fully reflect the scope of work undertaken, as well as to add new projects as they are completed. We are also working with them on other marketing and communications projects, including creation of an up-to-date relationship database and some "boilerplate" pieces that will allow for quicker and easier response to opportunities.
Daniels Chiropractic Office recently engaged Write and Polish to undertake a complete edit/revision of its website content.
Dr. John Daniels, one of the members of the practice's third generation of practitioners, built the website using tools provided by a company that specializes in sites for chiropractors. It looked great, but the text was held over from a previous iteration of the site, and needed both updating and to be tightened up.
Conveying a lot of information with a degree of economy is always a challenge; we think this one turned out quite nicely.
If you are in the Racine area, we can also recommend the care delivered by Daniels Chiropractic. We're not just their writers...we're their patients as well!
Write and Polish recently completed an extensive website content overhaul for PPG Partners, LLC, under the auspices of our good friends at Image Management.
Thanks for the opportunity to contribute to such a great new site!
The new way to be eye-catching is to be old! Read this article on using nostalgia and iconic images in marketing.
The spirit of this observation, of course, has everything to do with forging an immediate emotional connection with your audience. After that instant, though, you have to be able to deliver with content and/or a product that lives up to the expectation that is created at the outset!
Write and Polish has created a Recommended Reading (Amazon Affiliates linked) page, and added it to a church's existing website.
We specialize in such one-off projects that the internal staff of your business may not have the time or expertise to handle.
No project is too small!
Note: we offer rates, discounted specifically for non-profit organizations, in recognition of their donation-based operating budgets and many benefits to the community.
