Upon reviewing the convention on the use of one or the other, they are, basically, interchangeable.
The former is somewhat more common in the UK, the latter in the US. But otherwise, they are equally correct!

Plan a day to come down and stroll along the lakefront, stop in at a couple of the galleries, and enjoy a pub burger at the Ivanhoe (have the sweet potato fries alongside!) You won't be sorry. We see this one all the time -- some instances may be the result of a typo that, of course, will never register on the spell check, since both are actual words.
